A special machine owned by Elon Musk has just finished drilling a 2.6 kilometer long tunnel in the heart of Las Vegas. From January 2021, Tesla will be driving there, avoiding traffic jams on the surface of the city. The billionaire also presented a project of an underground passenger station. The Boring Machine (official name) task of The Boring Company was anything but boring. Elon Musk’s giant drill bit cut two one-way tunnels with a total length of 2.6 kilometers, right in the heart of Las Vegas. The machine was digging at a speed of 30 meters a day – supposedly twice as fast as most of this type of advanced equipment. These two one-way tunnels are the cornerstone of the Las Vegas Convention Center Loop project – an underground transportation system linking the LVCC campus with the West Hall under construction.
