It’s ironic that the three-digit megapixel lens is becoming de jour at a time when we’re all stuck at home, staring at walls or virtual Zoom backgrounds, and the most interesting landscapes on the horizon are what Google throws up while our TVs are on standby. While one brand is reportedly experimenting with a 600MP camera, you can count on a 108MP lens becoming the new normal in smartphones now. Very quickly, it could be the sort of base spec that people will expect if they’re spending upwards of Rs 50,000.
