Ben Sin Samsung’s last flagship phone, the Galaxy S20 Ultra , was a very powerful phone with a sky high price and a couple of glaring flaws that kept it from being the best of the best. The brand new Galaxy Note 20 Ultra fixes these concerns to varying degrees. The first flaw of the S20 Ultra was the infamous autofocusing issue, in which the phone would either focus-hunt or blur edges of subjects (even when not shooting in portrait mode) more often than usual. The problem was a combination of the larger-than-usual image sensor Samsung was using which provided a more narrow field of focus and lack of software optimization. Well, that problem’s been fixed. The new Note 20 Ultra adds a dedicated laser focus sensor that helps track subjects and it works as advertised.
