Ford Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 prototype with wheelie on the race track [Video]

Ford is testing the latest in electric racing propulsion technology with the Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 prototype, another one-of-a-kind electric prototype.

Now the bullet can be seen in a new video. After a wheelie at the start, the car completed the quarter mile in just 8.27 seconds on a drag slope.

The Ford Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 prototype delivers 1,400 hp and almost 1,500 Nm of instant torque. The quarter mile was done with 168 miles per hour (approx. 270 km / h) after just 8 seconds.

The prototype is not supposed to be the end of development, Ford is continuing to work on its electric racing drive technology.
