Telegram celebrates its 7th anniversary, video calls now available to everyone

Believe it or not, Telegram is 7 years old now. Time for a small gift to the now 400 million users. The popular messenger Telegram now also receives video calls.

It was only recently that the video calls had surfaced in the Telegram beta. Nobody would have thought that it would go so quickly. But the developers themselves still refer to the feature as alpha, so problems could still arise.

But behind the scenes they seem to be working flat out to get the feature ready. It does not yet work with the desktop clients, nor can group video calls be made yet. But Telegram video calls are end-to-end encrypted.

The feature is already being distributed on Android, iOS users will have to be patient a little longer. But it should now be a matter of a few days.
