Honor Choice True Wireless Earbuds Review
While looking for new headphones, I recently came across the Honor Choice True Wireless Earbuds. These were kindly made available to me by Honor for testing. And here I want to tell you now whether the purchase is worthwhile.
The new Honor Choice True Wireless Earbuds do not come directly from Honor itself, but from the Moecen sub-brand, as can be seen directly from the print on the packaging.
scope of delivery
What do you get when you choose the Honor Choice True Wireless Earbuds? A simple light blue square packaging. In addition to the headphones, there are also the charging station (500 mAh / 5 V), 3 silicone plugs (S, M, L), a USB Type-C to USB-A cable (26.5 cm) and of course a small, multilingual user manual . So not a lot of frills.
design
In terms of design, the new Honor Choice True Wireless Earbuds are reminiscent of the Honor Magic Earbuds or the Huawei counterpart. The grandfather of the design, however, are the wireless EarPods from Apple.
The headphones are 31 mm long, 22 mm wide, and the thickest point is 20 mm. Nevertheless, the headphones are pleasantly small and compact. Nevertheless, the speaker output is 5 mm in diameter by default.
processing
For the price, the workmanship is absolutely fine. With the headphones, you notice a slight transition between the touch surface and the rods. The touch surface works precisely and accepts every "command" immediately. At the lower end there is a microphone and the two charging contacts.
The case, in which the headphones can also be charged, is also processed according to the price. The magnetic lid is easy to open and close again, and when closed, it really "closes".
The station is charged via the USB Type-C connection on the bottom, an LED indicates when and when it is charged. If the Honor Choice True Wireless Earbuds are in their case, they are then charged directly.
All in all, the feel and workmanship are good. Just like the original, the earbuds are only available in white.
Comfort
In addition to the sound reproduction, we come to the most important criterion of the headphones, the wearing comfort. I’m one of those people who don’t do very well with headphones like this. I was curious how it would go with the Honor Choice True Wireless Earbuds.
What can I say, I was pleasantly surprised. These listeners sit perfectly even with me, this time nothing presses and nothing hurts even after a long time. I was really surprised. This could also be due to the fact that they are extremely light at just under 4 g.
For the size of the auricle there are also 3 different sized silicone plugs in S, M and L. There should be something for every ear size. But that’s a matter of taste, just because they sit really well with me this time, it doesn’t have to be the case for everyone. A previous "adapt" may help.
Sound quality
Of course I am not an audiophile permanent listener. However, the quality is more than sufficient for everyday use. Listening to music and making calls works great (thanks to noise suppression), the other person can be clearly understood and you are also well understood.
Honor does not rely on aptX, but on AAC and Bluetooth 5.0. The sound is really good, the sound isn’t too bass-heavy. Not flawless and perfect, but a clean sound. And what more could you expect from such inexpensive headphones?
service
The wireless headphones have a touch field on the outside. This can be used to control the music or the phone call. The following options are available:
- Tap right + left twice: pause / play
- Hold down the right for two seconds: next track
- Hold left for two seconds: previous track
- Hold right + left for three seconds: start assistant
- Tap right + left twice, for a call: accept / hang up
- Hold right + left for two seconds, for a call: reject
Battery / runtime
A "combined music playback of 24 hours" is possible according to Honor. Fully charged earbuds last around 6 hours. This can be recharged in the case. 3 times are complete in there, so all in all you really get the promised 24 hours.
The headphones take around 40 minutes to fully charge, while the charging station takes around 1.5 hours to fully charge.
Conclusion
The Honor Choice True Wireless Earbuds are available for EUR 39.00, and the price certainly fluctuates a little. But what you can say is that in principle you can’t go wrong with the headphones. Anyone who likes perfect music enjoyment knows that they cannot get it for this price.
But you get Bluetooth 5.0, a fair price, a decent runtime and, most importantly, good sound. Unfortunately you have to do without aptX, but somehow the low price has to come about.
All in all, you get a very good pair of true wireless headphones for your money.
