Cards Wrapped Microsoft Edge rotates the interface 90 degrees

Some time ago, Microsoft announced that its browser will soon allow you to change the default view of open tabs. Instead of horizontally, their list will be displayed vertically. After all, we know what it looks like.

Almost every web browser displays all open tabs horizontally along the title bar. This is a logical place to position them – tab titles logically match the vicinity of the browser window title bar. And since almost every computer is connected to a widescreen display, listing them on the longer side makes sense.

According to Microsoft, it can be done differently. Not necessarily better for each user – but that’s why we will be able to decide for ourselves which mode of operation we prefer. The Edge browser will be able to display the list of open tabs vertically – on the left side of the auto-hide menu.

Although we heard about the novelty quite a long time ago, at the end of March , we have not been able to test it so far. Vertical tabs are not available under any flag , not even in Edge’s early Canary development version. However, it looks like the feature is finally starting to hit the first testers. We do not see her at home yet, but fortunately others shared her appearance with the world.

The button to change the view of the interface is located in the upper left corner of the browser, so we can easily change it at any time. Maybe too easy – the button is in a place potentially exposed to accidental clicks – but we’ll see that again when the update hits us.

The vertical tab view is not yet assigned to any specific Edge version – so we don’t know yet when it will go to regular users.
