The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 release has been postponed, there will be no launch of the new foldable smartphone on August 5th.
It was only announced a few days ago that the next generation of the foldable smartphone will get a new name. All foldable devices are published under the Galaxy Z label.
So the new model should then be called Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2. And now it is known that the scheduled release on August 5 will not take place at the UNPACKED event.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2: The software causes problems
According to Max Weinbach (@MaxWinebach), the possible start date could be in September or even October. At the moment the phone is said to be still in the test phase. And it can still take a while.
He revealed that the smartphone software is not nearly finished. No good news. The Samsung Galaxy Fold successor also seems to start with problems again.
This is absolutely no surprise. The software isn’t even close to ready for a September launch and there is very few mentions of anything hardware wise. It’s likely been delayed a bunch and that’s why.

I looked into it a bit more. Galaxy Store only shows user testing for the Note 20 and Flip 5G. I do see carrier testing for the Fold 2, which looks like it just got put in. There’s no way they can have it announced with 0 information about it.
