Bolt goes to the AppGallery. Huawei phones with EMUI have just become more useful
The offer of programs for the EMUI system is constantly growing. The first application for handling passenger transport has just appeared in the AppGallery store. It’s about Bolt, popular in Poland.
Huawei, as a result of the conflict with the US authorities, no longer directly cooperates with US Google. For today, the relationship between the two companies is basically very loose – the Chinese manufacturer uses the open source version of Android (AOSP), i.e. the one without Google’s closed source services, to build its EMUI system.
EMUI is fully compatible with Android, but associated with another set of services. In this when it comes to the software repository: instead of the Play Store on Huaweia phones we will find the AppGallery. And in it, from now on, an application for Bolt.

AppGallery, as a much younger repository from the Play Store, necessarily has a more modest offer than Google. This, however, is constantly being expanded, including the applications of Polish banks, Tinder. TIkTok, Zooma or Telegram – listing just some of the latest news. Uber has not yet decided to create an app for Huaweia phones – instead, one of his most important local rivals, which is Bolt.
Bolt is – according to the Financial Times – the third fastest growing company in Europe. Huawei is the third most popular phone brand on the old continent, and this will certainly affect the popularity of Estonia’s passenger transport operator. It is widely perceived as a cheap alternative to Uber and is constantly expanding its offer with additional services such as city bikes, scooters and food delivery from restaurants.
