Xiaomi: Foldable smartphone in the style of the Huawei Mate Xs is coming
Will Xiaomi’s first foldable smartphone become a copy of the Huawei Mate Xs? There is evidence that Xiaomi is planning such a model.
Xiaomi seems to agree with Huawei. At least as far as the design of a foldable smartphone is concerned. New patents dated January 5, 2020 show that the Chinese manufacturer is working on the same device.
Then Xiaomi works on a Huawei clone, if you can put it that way. So it seems that the design of Huawei is more devoted to that of Samsung.
With its display unfolding from the left, which turns the smartphone into a small, square tablet, the new design is far removed from the double-folded prototype smartphone, which was leaked in early 2019 .
What is seen in the new patents is also a thicker area similar to the Mate Xs on one of the edges of the device, where there are four cameras, a flash and a mysterious button (probably a hinge trigger).
On the side of the same thicker module, we see volume buttons and an on / off button, with a standard USB Type C port on the bottom.
We still have to wait and see which design Xiaomi’s first foldable Xiaomi will use, but this is probably more doable than the company’s previous two-fold prototype, so we can expect a smartphone based on it to come to market by the end of the year. And since Xiaomi is often able to undercut the prices of the competition, we can hope that it will also be the most affordable foldable smartphone in 2020.
