Tesla Model S and Model X: Now rechargeable with 225 kW

Through a software update, Tesla has increased the charge rate of the top models S and X to 225 kW. With the Supercharger V3, Model 3 from Tesla can already take full advantage of the new charging current of 250 kW.

Tesla had already announced that the Model S and Model X would soon be able to enjoy a higher charging rate. The improved charging current should soon come “through a software update”, it said.

There was an increase to 200 kW, which was still significantly behind the Model 3 with 250 kW. So now the value has been increased to 225 kW. This was done by unlocking the new upgrade to a range of 647 km .

Tesla has started to push ahead with a new software update called 2020.24.6, as written in the release note:

Supercharger improvements
“Your car can now be charged with V3 Supercharger with up to 225 kW peak power. As usual, when you navigate to a supercharger , your car conditions its battery while driving so that it can charge faster. “
