The police are censored today and LEGO has decided not to advertise sets with policemen until further notice. There is no way to stop their production.

The company did not stop producing blocks depicting officers, although it decided that due to events that are currently taking place in the United States, it would stop advertising them for some time.
This symbolic gesture is not the only action taken by the Danish manufacturer of popular toys. Like many other companies in recent days, LEGO has declared its support for a black community that protests against racism in America in response to the death of George Floyd – a representative of this minority who was strangled by a police officer.

LEGO and Black Lives Matter
In support of the protesters, the company published on Twitter, like many other brands, a post with a gray inscription on a black background. LEGO explains in it that it supports the black community in the fight against racism and argues that the company’s mission is to inspire and develop "builders of tomorrow" to be tolerant and open to others.
It doesn’t end with words. LEGO officials decided to donate $ 4 million. for non-profit organizations supporting, among others black children and educating children of all races and their families regarding tolerance and racial equality. They are not alone in this, because support for the Black Lives Matter movement is also declared by many other companies, including from the gaming industry .

As for the withdrawal of toy ads, this is not only about those depicting police officers. LEGO also has sets in its offer that include firefighters, even politicians and the White House. The pause in broadcasting ads applies to similar categories, although LEGO emphasizes that these sets will continue to be produced and sold.
