Xiaomi is working on 6G, satellite internet and much more

Xiaomi will stop producing 4G smartphones for China by the end of the year. But the manufacturer is already working on many new future technologies.

Together with the development of satellite internet, the company also started preliminary research on 6G . Lei Jun, co-founder and CEO of Xiaomi, confirmed this in an interview with Xinhua .

According to Lei Jun, the 5G will revolutionize the industry with applications such as 4K and 8K conferences, cloud gaming (game streaming) and autonomous driving.

Xiaomi has enough resources to invest in 5G phones. The company also focuses on new devices with breakthrough technologies and IoT devices. Last but not least, the company will work with the Chinese government to build a new disaster warning system. Everything will be possible thanks to the 5G capabilities.

Unfortunately, the CEO didn’t give many details about 6G . However, he said that Xiaomi has already started preliminary studies for the next generation of networks. The company will also work on developing satellite Internet technologies in the future.
